Quick Notes:

We head into game five of 162 and the Tigers are still the only team in baseball who has not lost a game so we say let that continue. But what the Tigers can easily live without are the late inning dramatics that have been present in all but one game, a game which nearly did not take place because of uncooperative weather.

In anticipation of playing inter-league games as the Tigers will do for five games next week, Tigers manager Brad Ausmus put Martinez at first base and Miggy has been given the job of designated hitter to allow Martinez to get playing time in prior to facing a National League lineup.

Sunday morning Aumsus said that the primary reason he had Martinez at first however, was to give Cabrera some time off from playing first base. Martinez is currently slated to play first base in one inter-league game next week.

Andrew Romine will look to continue to prove his worth as he takes on shortstop duties. Romine wasn't hired on for his offensive abilities but that didn't stop him from driving in a run in the first game against the Orioles.

There were mistakes on the field early on but Romine shows promise defensively and has shown he has a strong arm. Considering how Alex Gonzalez has performed defensively as of late, it might not be a bad idea to give Romine more playing time to see what he is capable of. For today, that's just what Ausmus intends on doing.

Game time temperature will be around 50 degrees but another cloudless day with a light breeze will warm things up for the Tigers and fans who make the trek down to Comerica. Also, it's Kids Opening Day courtesy of Blue Cross Blue Shield today, so come prepared.
