The last week of the regular season upon us, the bookmakers in Las Vegas have updated their playoff and World Series odds.
Thanks to taking 2-of-3 this weekend and holding a 1 1/2 game lead over the Kansas City Royals with seven remaining, the Detroit Tigers are overwhelming favorites to win the AL Central. But the Tigers are no longer favored to get out of the American League playoffs alive.
Las Vegas believes the Angels, owners of the best overall record in baseball, will win both the AL Pennant and the World Series. On the National League side of the ledger, the Washington Nationals may have the best record, but Los Angeles Dodgers remain favored to advance to the World Series.
