ALCS Game 3: Oakland Athletics @ Detroit Tigers

It's Friday the 13 and odd things are expected to happen.  So far we have Omar Infante as the starting DH this afternoon and a weather forecast calling for a wind chill of 36 degrees at game time.  Stay tuned, the day is still young.

Today's starting pitchers:
Kenny Rogers (17-8, 3.84) vs. Rich Harden (4-0, 4.24).

Kenny Rogers carries with him a 2-0 record against the A's this year (both starts were in Oakland) and a lifetime 21-7 record against them.  Since 2002, in 15 starts against Oakland, Rogers is 10-1 with a 3.72 ERA.  Beyond his impressive track record against the A's, Rogers is also coming off perhaps the best start of his career last week against the Yankees.  While you can't expect a repeat of that performance, Rogers' knowledge of the A's and recent success should benefit him this afternoon.

Rich Harden missed most of this season because of injuries.  However, the A's won all nine games he started this year.  When healthy, he is one of the best young pitchers in baseball.  He has a lifetime 3-1 record with a 3.70 ERA against Detroit.

Today's game can be seen nationally on FOX.  It can be heard locally on WXYT-AM (1270), WDTW-AM (1310), WDFN-AM (1130) and WTKA-AM (1050).

First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

so far so good
It's been a very exciting game so far.  Lots of plays which could've broken open the game.  The Tigers just have to keep getting it done.
