At Least the World Series Will Still End in October

At 0-3 in favor of Boston, the World Series is probably now a moot point.  But the Rockies and Red Sox have the spotlight to themselves, with the NFL ceding Sunday night for a week, so it would be nice for this series to become interesting.  Then again, we're talking about a 3-0 series.  How much more interesting can it really get?

So, as the saying goes, it's pretty much all over but the shouting.  Maybe I'll tune in after The Next Iron Chef.  (Off-season confession: I am an Iron Chef junkie.)  Just in case Red Sox Nation becomes insufferable - if you haven't seen this already - here's a public service announcement from the Jimmy Kimmel show.

Actually, I like Red Sox fans, so I don't see a problem.  Please feel free to use this as an open thread for Game 4 of the World Series.  Nuestra casa es su casa.  We can discuss whether or not the Rockies' defense is something that will change the game, as Eriq Gardner wrote in Slate.  We could talk about where Terry Francona should be regarded among major league managers, now that he's about to win his second World Series championship.  We could argue how the Detroit Tigers match up against this Boston team.

Hey, we could even contemplate the fact that the Detroit Lions are 5-2, though I'm sure Sean would love to have you over at Pride of Detroit.  (And easy on the playoff talk, okay?  C'mon, you know better.)  Or you know, we could talk 'Next Iron Chef.'  Michael Symon's my pick.  Dude's a bad-ass.  And he laughs like a maniac.

Purple Row and Over the Monster have you covered, SB Nation style.  Be good out there tonight, Boston.

Just want the Rocks to win tonight so the baseball season doesn't end yet.  Not ready for it and 3 long months til the players report.

What a depressing series...
The underdog (probably) gets swept...and no real reason to root for the favorite. The baseball being played isn't anything special, and you just have a feeling that all the breaks in the series are going to go to one team.

Worst series I've watched since Yankees-Padres in '98.

This probably IS a mismatch...
But I'm still wondering if the Rockies would've put up more of a fight from the start if they hadn't been sluggish from the long layoff.  I know that's an excuse, and they're overmatched by a better team, but it would've been nice to see two sharp teams going at it.

That's true
The Rockies were really flat throughout the whole series, and its hard not to think that the layoff hurt them.

well then
That was possibly the worst world series in a long time. I know there's no way to guarantee a team doesn't have a long layoff like that, but geez, this   WS was almost ridiculous.

Then again I doubt it would have made much a difference. I'm sure most figured the true WS was the ALCS.

Remember when the Red Sox looked dead?
Down 3-1 to the Indians?  Man, that seems like a long time ago now.
