The Tigers traded minor league OF Jeff Frazier to Seattle today in exchange for RHP Yorman Bazardo (great name):
Bazardo spent the 2006 season with Double-A San Antonio, posting a 6-5 record and 3.64 ERA (138.1IP/56ER) in 25 starts. He finished fourth in the Texas League with a 3.64 ERA.
"Bazardo is young pitcher with a quality arm," Tigers President, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager David Dombrowski said. "He pitched well this winter in Venezuela and we're excited to add him to the Tigers organization."
With the move the Tigers designated pitcher Preston Larrison for assignment.
From what I've read about Bazardo, he has a pretty solid fastball, which would probably be the reason why Dombrowski wanted him in the Tigers organization. I will hopefully find more on the new Tigers pitcher in the next few days.
