Farnsworth for Thames?

Would you trade Marcus Thames and Mike Robello for a second dose of Kyle Farnsworth and cash?
I've posed this question to the folks over at SB's Yankee site Pinstripe Alley.  The diary is here

Star-divide

I wanted to ask for all your opinions on the trade.  The more I think about it, the more I like it for the way it changes the rosters and the more I think it's impossible because of the standings.

Feel free to weigh in, either here or over at PA.

Nope.....
... no chance. Thames is an important bat for us, even if its off the bench, and Rabelo is critical to have as the backup catcher. We can find someone cheaper that can be equally as effective.

That or we have young arms, I just dont think Farnsworth at that cost would be the answer for our pen.

Lets see where we are now that Rodney is healthy as well before making any big moves.

No Chance In...
Why would you want a guy who couldn't wait to get out of town?  Not to mention the fact that catchers aren't falling off trees the way average at best relievers are.  Lastly, with all the problems the Yankees are having, could they even afford to give up a pitcher without getting an arm in return?
You hate Brandon, but in truth, you really hate yourself.

Well
the easy part is that we've got a ton of average to above-average relievers, and removing the obligation to Farnsworth would allow us to use a cheap/younger/ more reliable player.
I didn't remember how Detroit felt about Farnsworth, how he left town etc.
I was looking at Farnsworth as an improvement over Jose Mesa and Bobby Seah while Rodney and Zumaya were/are out.

Farnsworth
Tigers fans (and players) were hugely upset about Farnsworth being traded, but I think that died down once Todd Jones was signed and Zumaya developed so quickly.  (Plus, Zach Miner - who was included in the deal - pitched so well for most of last season.)

Farns is definitely an upgrade over the pitchers you mentioned, but to the Tigers, he might not be worth that price.
