I WILL NEVER GO ON VACATION AGAIN

C'mon, man - they couldn't make these moves on Wednesday?

(Hello from Charleston, SC, by the way. And no, I was not able to watch tonight's Tigers-Yankees game.)

If the Tigers make it back to the World Series, I'll have to consider going on another vacation because - CLEARLY - they would win it with me out of town.

But calling up Maybin is awesome news. The time is definitely right. He's too good for Double-A, and there's a role for him to fill on this team.

Conveniently and coincidentally, I'll be in Maybin's hometown of Asheville, NC this weekend, as that's where my sister's fiancé lives. I'll see if I can find out anything more than what's been posted online.

I remember the movie "Bull Durham" where Crash Davies played for the Tourists after he was fired.

Soon after seeing this movies in the early 90's in TV here in Germany I wrote to the Tourists PR Dept. and I got some Stickers a pennant and a program. That was a treasure for me in me "young days" and since this time I have a soft spot for the Tourists as well as the Bulls (and the Mud Hens, too, because of M*A*S*H where Corporal Klinger always had a Mud Hens Shirt ;) )
