Tigers Invite Seay to Spring Training

Ah, finally some sort of transaction after a very quiet couple of weeks...today the Tigers invited pitcher Bobby Seay to Spring Training:

Tigers signed LHP Bobby Seay to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.
Seay, who gave up 11 runs in 11 2/3 IP for the Rockies last season, will earn $375,000 if he makes the team. He's no specialist, but he still could be a useful 11th or 12th pitcher.

As you can see, he was nothing special for the Rockies last season, but it's worth a try. Perhaps Coors Field may have had something to do with his stats from last season...if he works out, good for us, that just means more depth and another oh so important lefty reliever in the system.

These kinds of chances are worth taking, as sometimes these kinds of guys can make impacts for teams during the season.
