Freddy Garcia (7-3, 3.58) squares off against that crafty lefty, Mike Maroth (5-8, 4.09), as the Tigers try to salvage a game in the series. Maroth is pitching on six days rest for the first time in a month. He got knocked around last time he had the extra day.

The Tigers have pitched beautifully in the first two games of the series, and they've gotten enough hits to win, but their performance with runners on third has been abysmal.

Game 1, ninth inning: runner on third, no outs, no runs score.
Game 2, eighth inning: bases loaded, one outs, no runs score.
Game 2, ninth inning: second and third, two outs, no runs score.
Game 2, eleventh inning: first and third, two outs, no runs score.
Game 2, thirteenth inning: bases loaded, one out, no runs score.

Two one-run games. Loads of blown opportunities. Let's discuss why game 3 will be different and exult when it is.
