The Tigers (50-50) take on the M's (43-56) for the third and final time in this series tonight. Mike Maroth (8-10) will get the start for the Tigers, facing off against another lefty in the veteran Jamie Moyer (8-3). Moyer is 2-0 with a 3.18 ERA for July coming into this game. Maroth is coming off a win versus division rival Minnesota.
The game can be seen on FSN Detroit and heard on WXYT 1270. This will be the first televised game of this series.
In some important news to note for tonight's game, Placido Polanco will be making his return to the Tigers team after a short stint on the DL due to a leg injury suffered in the Tampa Bay series prior to the all star break.
