From Tom Gage:
A mild scare in Erie tonight when Justin Verlander had to come out of his start against Altoona after three innings because of tightness in his right shoulder - he said after the game that he felt he could have pitched through it and that it checked out O.K. - they must be on alert there that caution is advised above all else, however - which it should be - because at the slightest hint of a problem, Manager Duffy Dyer took him out of the game.
Hopefully, it's only extreme caution being exercised, and our future ace will take his 0.32 ERA into action in Erie in five days.
