The date and time may have changed, but this remains a must-win game for Detroit. Historically, it's been almost impossible for teams to come back from a 2-0 deficit. Since 1995, teams with a 2-0 lead have gone on to win 35 of 41 (85.4 %) series.
Justin Verlander has faired pretty well in day games this year. He has a 6-2 record with a 2.78 ERA. Mike Mussina's record in day games this season is 6-4 with a 3.28 ERA.
Interesting sidenote: The Tigers had already checked out of their hotel and had to find a different place to stay last night. May not make a huge difference, but definately an inconvenience.
This afternoon's game will feature the same lineups we saw in Game 1.
Today's game will be televised locally on FOX 2 and nationally on ESPN. It can be heard on AM 1270.
First pitch is scheduled for 1:09 p.m.
