Oh, those crazy winter meetings. With the addition of Gary Sheffield to the Tigers OF we may see a move of Craig Monroe on the horizon, and the Orioles may be one team that's interested:
The Orioles inquired about Tigers outfielder Craig Monroe, but they were told that he's not available. The Tigers, in search of a left-handed bat, asked for Nick Markakis but were told he's not available, according to a baseball source.
Once the Tigers acquired Sheffield it was pretty clear that the Tigers would have to clear up some OF space for him, meaning that either Monroe or Marcus Thames would be used in a trade. Which one of these guys to trade is obviously a huge question in Dombrowski's mind right now as evidenced by these Winter Meetings rumors.
