The Tigers (23-13) will go for the ever so great "S" word today against the Indians (17-20) in Cleveland at Jacobs Field.
They will face off against a familiar face, as Jason Johnson (2-2) will take the hill for the Tribe against Mike Maroth (4-2). Jason Johnson signed with the Tigers prior to the 2004 season, one year after the dreaded 119 losses. He went a combined 16-28 while wearing the old english D.
It's good to be a Tigers fan right now. The team is only a half game out of first place in the AL Central. This is something we haven't seen this late in the season for quite some time.
Update [2006-5-14 15:42:21 by Mark]:The game is currently in a rain delay due to some lightning in the area. Because this inning was not completed and the Tigers took the lead in the top half of the inning the game will be in suspense if it ends up being called.
