5/25 Detroit Tigers @ Kansas City Royals

The Tigers (32-14) will go for yet another sweep (they have 6 so far) today in Kansas City as they face the Royals (10-34) in the final game of a 4 game series.

The Tigers will send out Mike Maroth (5-2) in this final game. Maroth owns the best ERA on the Tigers this season and ranks third in the AL with a 2.45. He will go up against the Royals Denny Bautista (0-2, 3.75). Bautista has only started 5 games this season due to injury.

The Royals have lost 12 straight games. Things aren't looking good for Kansas City (similar to what we went through in 2003). I feel bad for Buddy Bell and the boys, but I hope the Tigers add to that losing streak today.

The game is set for 2:10pm and can be heard on WXYT in Detroit.

Update [2006-5-25 12:52:49 by Mark]:Jack Hannahan will be starting today for the Tigers, following his call-up a couple days ago:

Jack Hannahan, recalled Tuesday when Young went on the DL, will make his first major league start today, Leyland said. He'll play first base. Hannahan's mother, father, aunt, grandmother and best buddy will attend the game. They were planning to come even before Hannahan learned he would be starting.
