Young to Be Activated

It looks like Dmitri will be activated from the DL tomorrow, according to Jason Beck's Blog on mlb.com:

Tigers announced after the game that they're activating Dmitri Young from the DL tomorrow and designating Alexis Gomez for assignment. If no team claims Gomez by Tuesday, he'll accept his assignment to Triple-A Toledo. Young will be back in the starting lineup, but Leyland emphasized he'll have to hit.

"I'm not doing a trial here with Dmitri," Leyland said. "He'll have to produce."

Dmitri just ended a 1 game rehab assignment with the Erie SeaWolves, going 1-4 with a double. Gomez is batting .222 with 2 RBI's in 13 games this season for the Tigers.

On another note, this is from the Tigers official site today:

The 87 runs allowed from Tigers pitching through their first 28 games entering Thursday was the lowest total through that many games from an American League team since the 1990 Oakland A's, who allowed 84 through that same point in their season. The last Tigers team to do it was in 1972, when they allowed 77.

Wow. Keep it up boys!
