Abreu To Detroit? No Chance Says Knobler

Tigers beat writer Danny Knobler discussed the current status of the Bobby Abreu to Detroit speculation in this article over at MLive. According to Danny, it doesn't look like there will be anything occurring of the longstanding rumors after the Tigers stated they were searching for a left-handed bat:

Even if the Tigers hadn't been scared away by Philadelphia outfielder Bobby Abreu's big contract, there's almost no chance he would have become a Tiger, anyway. Abreu has a complete no-trade clause, and he told friends he had no interest at all in coming to Detroit.

Bobby Abreu would be a great addition to the Tigers lineup as a left-handed bat with very solid numbers, but I guess this was just not meant to be. There are other left-handed options out there, but DD better move quickly if he wants to pursue them.
