9/12 Texas Rangers @ Detroit Tigers

With the Twins and White Sox both winning last night, the Tigers' lead in the AL Central has been cut to 1.5 games over the Twins and 3.0 games over the White Sox. The Tigers have 18 games left this year and need to finish strong. In their previous 18 games, the Tigers went 5-13. That simply won't cut it.

It's been raining off and on all day in Detroit but they should be able to play tonight's game against Texas.

Lefty Kenny Rogers (15-6, 3.91) gets the start tonight for Detroit. He'll face the Rangers' Vincente Padilla (13-9, 4.52).

The game can be seen on FSN Detroit and heard on AM 1270.

First pitch: 7:05 p.m.
