9/19 Detroit Tigers @ Chicago White Sox

The Tigers came through with one of their most important victories of the season last night, defeating the White Sox 8-2. Kenny Rogers pitched six scoreless innings and picked up his 16th win of the year. Magglio Ordonez contributed two solo homeruns while Craig Monroe delivered a three-run homer.

The Tigers enter tonight's game in Chicago with a 1.5 game lead over the Twins and 6.0 games ahead of the White Sox.

Justin Verlander (16-8, 3.42) gets the start tonight for Detroit. He'll face the White Sox' Freddy Garcia (14-9, 4.82).

The game is televised on FSN Detroit and can be found on radio station AM 1270 as well.
