Excellent news.
Placido Polanco, who was injured with a seperated shoulder following a diving catch in Fenway, will be activated and join the Tigers shortly. This is according to Danny Knobler's blog today:
Placido Polanco hit off Jordan Tata for about half an hour this afternoon, and manager Jim Leyland said afterwards that Polanco would be activated and will start Saturday night. He said Polanco will have Sunday off.
Polanco's injury really seemed to hurt the team, as the Tigers went out and acquired Neifi Perez to fill some sort of gap in production. Unfortunately the move has not made up for Polanco's injury for the most part. It will be good to have Placido back in this lineup, and I hope that is health is good enough to really make a contribution in the final games.
