9/23 Detroit Tigers @ Kansas City Royals

New, 1 comment

The Tigers were able to come through with some timely hits and defeat the pesky Royals 7-3 last night. The win, coupled with a Twins loss, extended the Tigers' lead in the AL Central to 1.5 games. However, as I write this, the Twins and White Sox are both winning their games.

Put on a happy face folks. Placido Polanco was officially activated from the disabled list last night and is expected to start tonight. There's no question that Polanco's absence hurt the Tigers. Here's hoping Placido is healthy and ready to contribute; because the Tigers could really use his bat.

Tonight's game will see Kenny Rogers (16-6, 3.74) face the Royals' 2006 All Star Mark Redman (10-9, 5.33).

The game can be seen on TV 20 in Detroit and heard on AM 1270.

First pitch: 7:10 p.m.
