A Look at the AL Central, 1/5

I'm going to try and keep Tigers fans updated about the happenings in the AL Central by highlighting fellow SB Nation blogs that cover the division: Let's Go Tribe, South Side Sox, Royals Review and Twinkie Town.

Anyways - Not a whole lot going on within the Central, but here is what we have:

...The Cheat over at South Side Sox has been keeping a close eye on the Juan Uribe situation. If you weren't aware, Uribe was in question in regards to a shooting in the Dominican Republic. The latest? Apparently Uribe may be sitting out the 2007 season to handle the demands of the court.

The question is - if this is true, how will the White Sox replace him? Alex Cintron as an everyday player? I guess we will have to wait and see what the outcome of this will be, but the White Sox will need to do something to make up for the loss of one of their everyday players.

...The Indians have signed Keith Foulke to a 1 year, $5 million contract. An AP Story is reporting that the Tribe will have a closer competition between Foulke and Joe Borowski.

Let's Go Tribe seems pretty about this move, and thinks that Foulke will win the closer job for the Indians. The Indians bullpen was their weakness last season, and it was painfully obvious to see this (especially to Tigers fans). Upgrading the pen was a must for Cleveland this offseason.
