Open Thread - Game 3: Tigers (1-1) at Royals (1-2), 8:10 p.m. EST

Justin Verlander (0-0, 0.00) vs. Jorge De La Rosa (0-0, 0.00)

Unfortunately, traveling to Kansas City won't allow the Tigers to escape the cold. The temperature at game time is expected to be 37 degrees with 20 m.p.h. winds. Hoodies and thermals for every one. And keep the kid's arm warm!

As mentioned yesterday, with the left-handed De La Rosa on the mound for the Royals, we should see the 2007 debut of Pudge Rodriguez leading off for the Tigers. Will we also see Marcus Thames over at first base, or is it too early in the season for that?

And if you want something to keep you warm before game time, consider that De La Rosa might be fresh meat for a hungry Tigers squad. He had an El Stinko Spring Training, posting an 8.74 ERA, and giving up five home runs in 11 1/3 innings.

I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to a longer look at Rookie of the Year candidate, Alex Gordon. I only got to see his first at-bat on Monday against the Red Sox, and want to see him play a whole game.

Have a great weekend, everyone!
