Steve Trachsel (1-2, 4.13) vs. Nate Robertson (2-1, 2.43)
Recap of last night's game below.
It's a Thursday getaway matinee at Comerica Park, as the Tigers go for the sweep before heading off to Kansas City. The Orioles typically have big problems against left-handed pitching, so Robertson could have a good day. Of course, if the lineup doesn't score any runs for him again... well, it's a hard way to live.
Speaking of rough living, Trachsel seems to be having a typically unspectacular, yet productive season. The numbers don't catch your eye, but he's probably pitched better than his record indicates. As they pointed out (or lamented) on the Tigers' telecast last night, he does like to take his time, so if you're in the stands today, don't drink those beverages too fast. And if it's sunny, you might have a chance to work on that tan.
Short Hops:
▪▪ Both Mack Avenue Tigers and The Detroit Tigers Weblog close the book on April and take a look at the interesting trends and statistics. And hey, that means my first month as a Tigers blogger is now on the board, too. I think I'll have celebrate with an adult beverage for lunch. An additional one, that is.
▪▪ Lee at Tiger Tales is back from his trip to Lakeland. Not only did he get to enjoy the Florida sun while the rest of us soaked up north, but he also got a look at some notable Tigers prospects. Check out his recap, if you get a chance.
▪▪ And if you're curious, here's the box score from Jose Mesa's rehab start in Toledo last night. No runs and two hits over two innings, and one strikeout.
