Earned a Lecture from Leyland: Nate 5.1 IP, 9 H, 4 ER, 2 HR, 3 BB
I don't really have much to say this evening after this loss. Nate wasn't really good, the lineup wasn't really good, and Carlos Guillen left the game after getting banged up. It started out well, but ended terribly.
The Tigers are going through a tough stretch, that's for sure. Hopefully slumps like these won't come around often from here on out. But you have to expect them. Sometimes things just don't go your way, sometimes you get beat by good pitchers (Shields) and sometimes you just don't do what it takes to win (like blow leads).
Unfortunately a four-game set coming against one of the best teams in the league doesn't come close to being any type relief for the current slide -- and it's especially troubling when that team is the lone team ahead of you in the division.
