Andrew Miller (5-4, 4.97) vs.
Zach Greinke (5-5, 4.25), 8:10 p.m. EST
I should be back in Michigan by game time this evening, but just in case I get delayed at a Skyline Chili on my way through Cincinnati (I was hoping to catch a Reds game, but they're on the road), I'll post the game thread early.
I don't know how much could be expected from Andrew Miller in his first start since returning from the disabled list, but I doubt six runs, seven hits, and four walks in 4 1/3 innings - even if it was against those vaunted New York Yankees - is what anyone had in mind. Miller hasn't gone longer than five innings in his last six major league starts, so the bullpen should probably get some work tonight.
Zach Greinke might not go much longer than five innings either, as he's been working in the Royals' bullpen since May. He returned to the starting rotation in his last appearance, and held the Indians to just one hit, but was limited to three innings. Greinke has started twice against the Tigers this season, and lost both times, giving up 10 runs in 4 2/3 innings.
I'm looking forward to getting back in my armchair and watching some Tigers games.
