Socialize With Your Fellow Detroit Tigers Fans

Social networking - all the cool kids are doing it. So why can't Detroit Tigers fans have some of that fun, too? Mike McClary of The Daily Fungo and The Detroit Tigers Podcast has created a network for Tigers fans through Ning, and is looking for people to join up.

The Daily Fungo Clubhouse is now open and waiting for you to come over and hang out. I'm signed up as a member, along with The Daily Fungo crew. You can read a little bit more about this in Mike's post at the Fungo.

Incidentally, while we're talking about social networking, I'm also on Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter, if you're interested in saying hi. I'm a lonely, lonely man.

Another place for Tigers fans, bloggers, and blog readers to meet up is next Tuesday at Comerica Park for this year's Tigers Bloggers Night. Billfer of The Detroit Tigers Weblog has organized the get-together once again, reserving a block of tickets in the left field pavilion section for the night half of Tuesday's day-night doubleheader with the Texas Rangers.

Other Tigers bloggers attending besides Billfer and myself will be Samela Samara from Roar of the Tigers, Eric of D-Town Baseball, Brian from TigerBlog, Greg from Where Have You Gone, Johnny Grubb? and Matt of Take 75 North. Other Detroit sports bloggers may join us, as well.

As I write this, Billfer still has eight tickets remaining in the block. If you're interested in meeting up with some fellow Tigers fans, you can contact him through the DTW or e-mail him, and work out the ticket and payment details from there. Last year's meet-up was a lot of fun (though we did get rained on), and it'd be cool if even more people joined in this time around.
