Detroit's Long Road to Baseball Integration

I'm pretty late with posting this information, but if you're interested in filling your weekend with some baseball-related activities in the city of Detroit, the Detroit chapter of SABR is holding several events that might interest you.

As part of its symposium on race and integration at the major league level, SABR Detroit presents an itinerary that includes a bus tour of historic sites, a Sunday brunch at the Marriott Hotel, and two panel discussions featuring notable figures representing the Tigers and Red Sox. Among the speakers scheduled to appear at the symposium are keynote speaker Deacon Jones, and former Detroit Tigers Willie Horton and Gates Brown.

Many more details, including ticket prices, a schedule and description of events, as well as information about the Detroit chapter of SABR, can be found at the SABR-Detroit Online website.
