Polanco's Knee is Barking

As you know, Placido Polanco was a late scratch from last night's lineup after batting practice. On the FSN Detroit broadcast, it was reported that Polanco had a sore knee.

After the game, Jason Beck reported on his blog that Jim Leyland said the problem was patella tendinitis in Polanco's right knee, and he'll be sitting out tonight's series finale against Texas. (Leyland had planned to give Polanco the night off, anyway.) Between sitting out tonight and tomorrow's off-day, the hope is that Polanco will be ready for Friday night's game in Kansas City.
