Dontrelle Willis (with his lack of herky-jerky) appears to be struggling. Jeremy Bonderman won't throw for two or three days while anti-inflammatory meds and rest hopefully alleviate the soreness in his pitching shoulder. To put it kindly, Zach Miner was bombed in his first appearance over the weekend.
And with Grady Sizemore and Brad Hawpe dropping out of the World Baseball Classic, will Curtis Granderson have to shoulder more of a load in the Team USA outfield than originally planned?
Are such questions silly at this time of year? Probably. Maybe we need to remain calm, as Old English D advises. Players are working on things. Recoveries need to be made. But as Blake said earlier today, this is what's happening, so it's the news we're getting. And some more of the good stuff would be nice.
That leads us to this week's poll question:
So are you worried about these Tigers yet?
Of course, your comments on the subject are also welcome. You can find the poll on the right sidebar below the FanPosts block. Or you can click here to vote. And if you have suggestions for future poll questions, shoot me an e-mail.
Last week's poll was decided quickly. People were confident! And authoritatively so. Given the news of Jeremy Bonderman's sore shoulder, I wonder if these same results would hold true if we did it all over again. and I thought it might stay that way. But here's how it shook out:
How many games will Jeremy Bonderman win in 2009?
2% 1-5
10% 6-9
22% 10-12
44% 13-15
14% 16-19
4% 20-22
