With single-game tickets set to go on sale for the Tigers' home schedule this Saturday, does today's news on Alex Rodriguez influence whether or not you'll pay those "premium" prices to see the New York Yankees when they come to town?
If you haven't already heard the latest, A-Rod was diagnosed with a cyst in his right hip, a malady that prompted him to opt out of competing in the World Baseball Classic. However, the problem may be more serious. Initial reports said surgery was necessary to remove the cyst, a development that will keep A-Rod out for 10 weeks. The Yankees have since announced he also has a torn labrum in that hip but not require surgery.
But if the 10-week timetable holds true, Rodriguez would be out of the lineup when the New York Yankees visit Comerica Park during the last week of April. (April 27-29, to be exact.)
So as you're eyeing the 2009 schedule, deciding which games you're putting money down on, potential ticket buyer, does this affect whether or not you'd like to see the Tigers play the Yankees? Or do you just love rooting against that uniform, no matter what? Besides, it's not like those pinstripes won't still be filled by plenty of other high-priced talent.
