Zach Miner vs.
Jesse Litsch, 7:07 p.m. EST
REMINDER: Tonight's game is on FOX Sports Detroit Plus. On Comcast, that's channel 901. DirecTV is 664, Dish Network 453, AT&T U-Verse 738, and WOW! 195. Other channels and providers can be found here.
Will the foul aroma of last night's heartbreaking loss still linger in the Detroit Tigers' clubhouse going into tonight's game, or can they shake that off? And until they win that first game of the season, the 0-7 cloud from last season still looms overhead.
Zach Miner didn't earn a job in the starting rotation out of Spring Training, but he finds himself in that third spot with Jeremy Bonderman works out his shoulder soreness and builds up his stamina. Starting against Toronto last August, Miner held the Jays to one run and five hits in six innings.
Jesse Litsch faced the Tigers once last season and pitched seven shutout innings, giving up just four hits. Cito Gaston considers Litsch his second-best pitcher, but he's third in the rotation to mix up righties and lefties.
Magglio Ordonez gets the start at designated hitter, with Josh Anderson taking over in right field. Adam Everett will also get a rest, with Ramon Santiago filling in at shortstop. But will we see Ryan Perry tonight? Jim Leyland said he would've pitched in the 10th inning last night, had the game gone to extra innings.
And I've forgotten to mention it the last two nights, but tonight's opposing view can be found at Bluebird Banter.
