MLM Recap: Brayan Villarreal dominates as Lakeland beats Clearwater

No homers today. Weird. Edit: Audy Ciriaco had a homer for Erie. I'm an idiot.

AAA: Louisville 3, Toledo 1

The Bats used theirs on Enrique Gonzalez, who gave up 3 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits and a walk. Six strikeouts though, which is nice. Dan Schlereth pitched 2, walking 2 and striking out 3. Offense was nonexistent, but Ben Guez went 1-3 with a double- so he gets a cookie.

AA: Bowie 5, Erie 3

Duane Below struggled big time (3IP, 2BB, 6H, 4 ER), but the relief was good- notables include Zach Simons (1IP, 1K), Jared Gayhart (1IP, 2K) and the return for Nate Robertson, Jay Voss (1IP, 2H, 1R, 1K). Josh Burrus was 2-3, and Cale Iorg was 1-2.

A+: Lakeland 6, Clearwater 2

Finally, a win. Thank Brayan Villarreal, who was freakin awesome, giving up 1 run on a walk and 3 hits (including a homer) with 9 strikeouts in 6 innings. Josh Daniel Fields went 2-3 with a walk, which is freaking awesome considering his age. Billy Nowlin and Brent Wyatt also get cookies for going 2-4. Nowlin also got the only extra-base hit for Lakeland, a double.

A: Dayton 5, West Michigan 2

Giovany Soto didn't do too badly- 6 innings and 3 runs (2 earned) on 7 hits and a homer. But only 3 K's. Jamie Johnson went 3-3 with a walk, and Avisail Garcia went 1-4 with a double and two strikeouts.
