MLM Recap: Toledo forgets their DH, loses badly

New, 4 comments

AAA: Columbus 6, Toledo 2

So yeah, the Hens were without a DH and a starter today (Ruddy Lugo took one to the face pretty early). So the score should not be a surprise. Casey Fien went 2.2 innings with 2 walks, 2 strikeouts, an earned run and 3 hits. Jeff Frazier went 2 for 5 with a double and Will Rhymes went 3 for 5, so there was some offense.

AA: Erie 6, Altoona 4

Andy Oliver went 5 innings but gave up 4 earned runs on 6 hits and 2 walks with 4 strikeouts. Brooks Brown went 3 innings, giving up 2 hits and 4 strikeouts. Deik Scram went 3-5 with 2 doubles and a homer.

A+: Clearwater 8, Lakeland 4

Charlie Furbush got shelled today- 5 earned runs on 11 hits and 2 walks with a homer in 4.1 innings. The silver lining: 7 strikeouts. The defense was bad- there were 2 unearned runs, so that might play into the massive amount of hits. Kody Kaiser went 1-5 with a homer and Gustavo Nunez went 2-3 with a double and a walk.

A: South Bend 3, West Michigan 1

Trevor Feeney went 8 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, a walk and a home run. But 8 strikeouts. So not too shabby. Unfortunately, the offense didn't do enough- Wade Gaynor's 1-3 with a double and a walk was the most impressive performance.
