So if these come out a little late in the next couple days, I'm sorry- I have all my major papers due this week and it's a battle. They'll be more on schedule starting Saturday, but I'll do my best to get them out by the Tigers game.
Armando Galarraga (6IP, 2ER, 4H, 3BB, 2K) had an okay outing- not as many strikeouts as in the past, but he was pretty hard to hit. Robbie Weinhardt pitched 2 scoreless, with 1 hit and a walk mitigated by 2 strikeouts. Jay Sborz pitched the final inning to pick up the save- he had a strikeout and a hit. Jeff Larish went 1-3 with a homer and a walk.
Lauren Gagnier went 5 innings, giving up 2 unearned runs on 5 hits and 2 walks with 3 strikeouts. Jay Voss had two hitless innings with a strikeout, and Jared Gayhart had 1 hitless inning with 2 strikeouts. Wilkin Ramirez was 2-5 with a homer, Audy Ciriaco was 1-5 with a double and Cale Iorg was 2-3 with a strikeout.
Mark Sorensen got torched in his 4.2 innings. He gave up 5 runs (4 earned) on 11 hits and 2 walks (no strikeouts). The bullpen did okay- Tampa was held scoreless for the rest of the game, and Michael Morrisson's 2 inning outing (1 hit, 2 strikeouts) was the highlight. Offensively, Brent Wyatt was 3-4 with a double and John Murrian was 3-4 with a double and a homer.
A: South Bend 5, West Michigan 1
Victor Larez went 7 innings, giving up 3 earned runs on 5 hits and a homer. No walks to one strikeout, which is okay, I guess. Jordan Lennarton went 1-4 with a homer- and that was the extent of the offense.
