Updated MiLB recap: Tigers affiliates swept on opening day

New, 8 comments

We're debuting a new feature tonight. Each night/early morning you'll be able to see how all the Tigers minor league affiliates did. We'll be expanding our minor league coverage a bit soon, too!

As the minor leagues open, the MILB.com web site still has some things to work through, as box scores were not updating right. So if I missed any details, apologies.

Triple A Louisville 5, Toledo 3

Ryan Strieby and Jeff Larish had back-to-back home runs for Toledo. Brent Dlugach went 3-for-5. Ruddy Lugo got the loss, giving up five runs. Daniel Schlereth made his Tigers organization debut with three strikeouts in 2 1/3 scoreless innings.

Double A Trenton 4, Erie 0

Jon Kibler retired the first eight Trenton batters he saw, but had no help from his offense. Wilkin Ramirez and Andy Dirks had the 'Wolves' hits.

Advanced A Tampa 4, Lakeland 0

Ben Guez had a double for the Flying Tigers. SP Luke Putkonen struggled, giving up 3 runs in 3 2/3 innings.

Single-A Lake County 4, West Michigan 3

Michael Rockett had a home run for the Whitecaps but it wasn't enough, as bullpen members Kenny Faulk and Luis Sanz gave it all back. SP Trevor Feeney allowed no runs in six innings for WM.

**update**

Casper Wells left the game with a pinky finger injury after sliding into third. He reports on Twitter:

Xrays negative. Should be back real soon. Dislocated pinky.
