First, a few organizational moves. Max St. Pierre was called up from Erie in order to fill the AAA vacancy left by an injury to Mike Rabelo, and LJ Gagnier came with him in order to start for Alfredo Figaro. Andy Bouchie was called up from Lakeland to replace Max St Pierre behind the dish at Erie, and Anthony Shawler went to Erie to replace Lakeland. Wilfredo Ramirez went from extended spring training to Lakeland to replace Shawler. Whew. Lotta moves, and a couple more tomorrow, most likely.
LJ Gagnier didn't put in the best start- he went 3.2 innings giving up 5 runs (4 earned) on 8 hits (including a homer) with a walk and 4 strikeouts. Robbie Weinhardt went 1.2 innings and struck out 3. Casper Wells was 2-3 with a double.
Thad Weber put in a good start- 6.2 innings pitched and 3 runs allowed on 6 hits (and a homer) and 4 walks with 6 strikeouts. Cesar Nicolas was 2-4 with a homer, Josh Burrus was 2-5 and Michael Bertram was 2-4.
Brayan Villareal was not nearly as sharp as he has been in the past- he went 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 6 hits (including a homer) and 3 walks with 5 strikeouts. Alden Carrithers was 3-3 with a walk, and Brent Wyatt was 2-3 with a walk, a double and a triple.
