MLM Recap: Oliver beats Squirrels as Erie wins

New, comments

More content stuff tomorrow, along with maybe a link or two.

AAA: Toledo 5, Durham 3

LJ Gagnier had a great start- 7 scoreless innings with 3 hits, a walk and 3 strikeouts. Jay Sborz, however, did not do well. He went 2 innings and allowed 3 runs on 3 hits, a walk and 3 strikeouts. Jeff Frazier was 2-5 with 2 doubles and Deik Scram was 3-3 with a double, a triple and a walk.

AA: Erie 3, Richmond 1

Andy Oliver pitched Erie over the Flying Squirrels today (seriously, that's either the coolest or the lamest mascot ever). He went 6.2 innings and only allowed one run on 7 hits and 3 walks with 3 strikeouts. Justin Henry was 3-5 with a double and a stolen base and Michael Bertram was 3-5.

A+: Lakeland 5, Jupiter 4

Brayan Villareal got roughed up over 5 innings. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks with only 3 strikeouts. Hopefully he gets back into a groove soon. Tyler Conn went 2 innings with 2 hits and 2 strikeouts, and Erik Crichton went 2 as well with only one hit and 2 strikeouts. Matt Hoffman got the save in extra innings on a hitless inning with a strikeout. Brent Wyatt was 3-6 with a home run while Carmelo Jamie went 2-4 with a triple and a walk.

A: Lake County 5, West Michigan 2

You can't blame Jade Todd for the loss- he went 6 innings, letting up one run on a solo homer and 9 total hits with a walk and 5 strikeouts. Avisail Garcia tripled (and struck out 3 times) while Mike Gosse went 1-4 with a double.
