MLM Recap: Tigers Organization is 5-for-5 on Wednesday

Funny story on Scot Drucker's blog about the Mud Hens injuring the Durham Bulls mascot. Okay, the injury isn't funny, but the story is. Look for more draft coverage on Monday- with the next MOD for the Supplemental Picks then.

AAA: Toledo 5, Durham 2

A good performance by Ryan Ketchner, who went 5 innings, giving up an unearned run on 4 hits, 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. Daniel Schlereth pitched an inning with 1 strikeout, 1 walk and 1 hit, and Casey Fien pitched a hitless inning. Both Jeff Frazier and Scott Sizemore were 2-4 with a double. Robinzon Diaz was 3-4 with a double as well.

AA: Erie 9, Richmond 4

Erie apparently took first in their division with this game, and it's thanks to the Erie offense. Duane Below had a below-average start- he labored through 4, giving up 2 earned runs on 5 hits and 3 walks with 2 strikeouts. Credit Anthony Shawler for stopping the bleeding after Jay Voss gave up 2 more runs (one earned) on 2 hits and a walk. Shawler went 3 innings, allowing 2 hits and striking one out. Andy Dirks was 3-5 with a double and a homer, Wilkin Ramirez was 1-4 with a homer and a walk and Shawn Roof was 3-5 with a double.

A+: Lakeland 11, Jupiter 7

Lakeland beat Jupiter in a slugfest, as Adam Wilk went 4.2 innings, giving up all seven earned runs on 10 hits (including a homer) and 4 strikeouts. He didn't walk any, which is something though. Robert Waite picked up the win on 2.1 innings of 1 hit ball, with 3 strikeouts. Lakeland lit up the Hammerheads though- Daniel Fields was 2-5 with a double and a walk, Kody Kaiser was 3-5 with a triple and Bryan Pounds was 3-5, though every Fllying Tiger had an offensive contribution today.

A: West Michigan 3, Lake County 1

Finally, a great pitching performance. This one is at the hands of Giovany Soto, who went 7 strong innings, letting up only one unearned run on 4 hits, a walk and 2 strikeouts. Jose Ortega walked 1 but struck out the other 3 batters he faced in his inning of work. Michael Rockett was 2-4 with a double.
