Can either team's fan base honestly say they have a lot of faith in tonight's staring pitcher? (Well, other than a couple Dontrelle Willis apologists, anyway.) Didn't think so.
Sheets has been up and down, pitching a shutout in his last appearance yet still putting up a 5.08 ERA for the month of May.
Willis continues teetering every start. He's allowed 14 hits and issued 13 walks during 14 innings this month alongside a 7.07 ERA.
After all that setup to expect something high-scoring, this will probably be a pitcher's duel.
Ah, baseball.
In case you missed it in the post below, Carlos Guillen returns to the Tigers today. He's set to bat sixth and play second.
And who is that guy wearing #12 out there? It's not a new player. It's Gerald Laird, who got fed up with stinking it up with No. 8, apparently.
