Howdy! Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend (I know I did). There's a lot to handle today- I was slack on the recaps all weekend. Recaps are in reverse order of date (so Monday comes first and Friday is last).
Monday
Only one game on Memorial Day. Jon Kibler took the start and went 7 innings, giving up 4 earned runs on 7 hits (including a homer), 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. Mediocre to be sure, but the offense really delivered. Cale Iorg was 3-3 with 2 doubles, Audy Ciriaco was 2-4 with a homer and Wilkin Ramirez was 2-5 with 2 doubles.
Sunday
Ryan Ketchner went 4.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits (including a homer), a walk and 3 strikeouts. Scott Sizemore was 2-3 with 2 walks and Max St Pierre was 2-4 with a double.
Thad Weber gave up 8 runs in his 5 innings of work. Of course, only 3 of those runs were earned even though he gave up 9 hits (2 homers), walked one and only struck out three. Wilkin Ramirez was 1-3 with a home run and Audy Ciriaco was 2-4 with a homer and a double.
Charlie Furbush put in another great start- 6 innings, 3 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits (including a homer), 1 walk and 10 strikeouts. MOVE HIM UP ALREADY. Alden Carrithers was 3-5 with a homer.
Jared Wesson went 6 innings in his Midwest League debut, giving up 3 hits and 2 walks and striking out 4. Nolan Moody gave up 2 hits in 1.2 innings, striking out 3. Jamie Johnson was 2-5 with a double and a homer and Avisail Garcia was 3-4.
Saturday
Enrique Gonzalez went 6.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 9 hits (including a homer) and 2 strikeouts. Casper Wells was 2-4 with a homer.
Duane Below went 5 innings, giving up 1 run on a solo homer (one of 6 hits), a walk and 2 strikeouts. Jay Voss went 2 innings, giving up 1 hit and striking out 1. Andy Dirks was 2-5 with a double and a homer.
Adam Wilk had a rough start- 4.2 innings with 4 runs surrendered on 7 hits (including a homer), 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. Billy Nowlin was 2-3 with a homer and a walk.
Trevor Feeney went 6 innings, giving up 3 runs on 10 hits and 6 strikeouts. Herman Perez was 3-3 with a homer and a walk, and Wade Gaynor was 2-3 with a walk.
Friday
Aflredo Figaro went 4.1 innings, giving up 5 runs on 10 hits (including a homer), 4 walks and a strikeout. Must have thought he was in Detroit. Both Ryan Streiby and Casper Wells were 1-4 with a homer, and Scott Sizemore was 2-4 with a double.
Andy Oliver put in a truly good start- 7 innings and 1 earned run on 5 hits (one a solo homer) and 1 walk with 6 strikeouts. Audy Ciriaco was 1-3 with a homer.
Brayan Villareal went 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, 1 walk and 9 strikeouts. Robert Waite went 2 innings, giving up 1 hit and striking out 2. Billy Nowlin went 2-4 with a homer, Kody Kaiser went 3-5 with a double and Rawley Bishop was 2-4 with a double.
Jade Todd went 8 innings, giving up 3 runs (2 earned) on 7 hits, 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Wade Gaynor was 1-4 with a double and Jamie Johnson was 2-4 with a triple and a walk.
