It's hardly couth to assume the Tigers will break their losing streak just because they're facing the Indians. It would be nice to believe so, but even last-place teams win a few dozen games.

And believe it or not, but the Tigers are hitting just .258 with a .743 OPS vs left-handed pitchers, as Jake Westbrook is.

Small sample size and whatnot, but Magglio Ordonez has a career.324 (12-for-37) average with two doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI against Jake Westbrook. He is tops among all active major league players with 12 RBI versus Westbrook, while he is tied for the lead with three home runs.

Anyway, all that said, this series is an excellent chance for Detroit to get back on the right track. It's been an awful nine games or so but time to put that behind all of us.
