First some transaction news- Mark Anderson from TigsTown posts on Twitter that Jon Kibler has been demoted from Erie to Lakeland, Rob Waite has been promoted from Lakeland to Erie, Cesar Nicolas has been moved to the Erie DL, and Ronnie Bourquin has been moved from West Michigan to Erie in order to replace him. Expect another move in a couple of days (I'd think it'd be a starter to Erie from Lakeland). The indispensable (hey, he makes my job easier) Matt Wallace at Take 75 North summarizes a few more roster moves.
Recap time!
New acquisition Billy Bucker got lit up- he went 4 innings, giving up 7 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits, 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Casey Fien ate a chunk of innings- he gave up 1 earned run on 2 hits over 3.1 innings, striking out 3. Jeff Frazier cooled off- he was only 2-5 with 2 doubles (cut him!). Jeff Larish was 1-4 with a homer.
Nothing is going right for Erie this month. Duane Below goes 5 innings, gives up 1 earned run on 4 hits and a walk with 1 strikeout and he still loses. Audy Ciriaco was 2-4 with a double and Deik Scram was 1-3 with a triple.
Even when he gets lit up, he looks good. I am, of course, talking about Charlie Furbush, who gave up 5 runs (3 earned) on 10 hits, no walks and 5 strikeouts. He only went 4.1 innings but no walks or homers with 5 K's? I'll take it. Also, props go to Lester Oliveros, who pitched a hitless inning, striking out 2. Kody Kaiser was 1-4 with a homer and Alden Carrithers was 2-3 with a walk and a double.
A: Lake County 7, West Michigan 5
Trevor Feeney went 4 innings (seriously, what is it with Tigers pitchers going 4 innings today), giving up 7 runs (4 earned) on 10 hits (including a homer) and 3 strikeouts. Wade Gaynor was 2-3 with a double and a homer and Ronnie Bourquin was 1-2 with a double and a walk.
