Giving this a bump, pretty interesting stuff. -Kurt
As I was watching the Detroit Tigers game today, FSD came through with a great comparison of the Top Rookies in the American League and National League. I know there has been quite a bit of analysis with Brennan Boesch depicting why he will only have an average MLB career, including his strike out rate, his plate discipline and many other statistics that are used for comparison purposes.
However even if / when he comes down from this stratospheric level of play, I believe that he will still be an above-average successful player for the Tigers. I was very intrigued by the comparison to Atlanta rookie Jason Heyward, especially, as he is the No. 2 vote-getter in the NL in All-Star voting for outfielders.
So I decided to include below a blown-out depiction of the two players, which is very telling. I also thought it might be fun to project out Boesch for another 65 AB, just for giggles. Live long and prosper my son.
Stature: Boesch - 6'4", 235, LHH and Heyward - 6'5", 240, LHH
