Thad Weber went 7 innings, giving up two earned runs on five hits with a walk and eight strikeouts. Eric Roof was 1-3 with a triple while Jeff Frazier was 1-4 with a triple.
Anthony Shawler got roughed up in 5.2 innings, giving up six runs (five earned) on eight hits (three of them longballs) with seven strikeouts. Brandon Douglas was 1-3 with a stolen base while Bryan Pounds doubled.
Cole Nelson went 5 innings, giving up a sole earned run on a single hit and five(!) walks with four strikeouts. Patrick McKenna was 1-3 with a double.
The bullpen took the start in Game 2. But more impressive than the individual bullpen performances, Francisco Martinez and Patrick McKenna led the offense. Martinez was 2-4 with a double while McKenna was 2-3 with a double, a stolen base and a walk. The only other player to get on base via hit or walk was Daniel Fields, who walked.
Jared Wesson went 5 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits and a walk with seven strikeouts. Jamie Johnson was 3-4 with two doubles, Corey Jones was 3-4 with two doubles and Herman Perez was 3-4 with only one double.
Clemente Mendoza went 6 innings, giving up three earned runs on seven hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Miguel Mejia pitched 3 innings, walking one and striking out four. PJ Polk was 3-4 with a walk.
