MLM Recap: Jacob Turner roughed up (kinda) as Lakeland falls

I should have an Erie post up later today (and I really mean that- it just needs an edit) and Lakeland tomorrow. West Michigan will be Monday. If I manage to keep a schedule, there should be a Stars and Scrubs coming soon for July as well as a look at the top 30 prospects in the Tigers system (graded A through C) after the new draftee signing deadline passes.

Also of interest- I'll be going to four Toledo Mud Hens games (they're in town playing Charlotte) so the MLM threads will have more in-depth looks at Toledo, and I might have some more advanced scouting stuff on some other players up next week. I was trying to get credentialed, but the Knights are really bad about returning e-mail... which is unfortunate. I'll try again next year though (unless anyone knows how to sneak me into the locker room at Knights Stadium).

Recaps!

AAA: Toledo DNP (off-day)

AA: New Britain 13, Erie 6

Ugh. Thad Weber "pitched" 5 innings, allowing 7 earned runs on 10 hits (two of which were homers) and 2 walks with 5 strikeouts. Brandon Douglas was 2-5 with a double and a triple while Billy Nowlin was 2-4 with 2 doubles.

A+: Charlotte 5, Lakeland 2

Jacob Turner caught the loss today, which is the bad news. The good news is that his ERA keeps dropping in Lakeland, which bodes well. He gave up 3 runs (2 earned) in 5.1 innings on 5 hits and 2 walks with 4 strikeouts. Jordan Lennarton was 2-4 while Daniel Fields was 1-4 with a homer.

A: Great Lakes 4, West Michigan 2

Seriously, what kind of a mascot is a Loon anyways? Sorry, I'm a little bitter over the loss. "Mr." Trevor Feeney went 7 innings, giving up 3 earned runs on 8 hits with 3 strikeouts. Jamie Johnson was 2-4 with a double (he needs a freaking promotion) and Avisail Garcia was 2-4 (really happy he's hitting, though some of that is a BABIP mirage).

SS: Connecticut 2, Hudson Valley 1 (Game 1)

Patrick Lawson gave up 1 earned run on 5 hits with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts in 5 innings. Alexander Nunez was 1-3 with a double.

SS: Connecticut 2, Hudson Valley 1 (Game 2)

Heh. The score was the same. Amusing. Anyways, in this one, it was Miguel Mejia who went 5 innings. He gave up 1 earned run on 6 hits with 4 strikeouts. Tyler White pitched 2 hitless innings, striking out 3. James Robbins was 1-3 with a double.
