MLM Recap: Cale Iorg goes 2-5 with a homer as Erie avoids a sweep

AAA: Toledo @ Charlotte: rained out. Try being there. Rain delays are boring.

AA: Erie 7, New Britain 4

Anthony Shawler went 7 innings, giving up 4 runs (2 of which were earned) on 8 hits (one a homer) and a walk with 5 strikeouts. Cale Iorg was 2-5 with a homer and Rawley Bishop was 2-5 with a double.

A+: Charlotte 4, Lakeland 3

Luke Putkonen had a bit of an odd start. He went 6 innings and gave up 2 earned runs, but the odd part is that he allowed 10 hits and 2 walks and still managed to get out mostly unscathed. He also had 3 strikeouts. In a shocking turn of events, Gustavo Nunez was productive, going 2-5 (if both he and Iorg have good days, is that a sign of the apocalypse?) while Jordan Lennarton was 1-4 with a homer and a walk.

A: West Michigan 6, Great Lakes 0

Jared Wesson pitched 5 innings of a shutout for West Michigan. He probably only pitched 5 innings because he walked 4 batters to go along with the 4 hits he allowed. The 5 strikeouts were nice though. Kenny Faulk pitched an inning, allowing a hit and striking out 2. Jeff Rowland was 3-3 with a double while Jamie Johnson was 1-3 with 2 walks (and that puts his on-base percentage at .415).

SS: Connecticut 3, Hudson Valley 2

Rayni Guichardo went 5 innings, allowing an unearned run on one hit and 5 walks with 4 strikeouts. PJ Polk was 3-5 with a double, Alexander Nunez was 2-4 with a triple and Londell Taylor was 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk.
