Once again, the Tigers would have a chance to act as spoilers...if it wasn't for the 1st place Rangers holding an eight game lead in the AL West.

Notes:

We have a Scott Sizemore sighting tonight! And Gerald Laird is in the lineup for the first time in a couple of weeks, as he's recovered from his back isuues..

Rick Porcello's next start has been pushed back to Monday, thanks to a tendon "problem" in his finger. Armando "Where;s my run support" Galarraga gets the starting nod tomorrow instead.

Is Jhonny Peralta next year's starting shortstop? Jim Leyland dishes out the Peralta love:

"I think he catches what he gets to. He's got a very solid hand. He's got a very accurate, nice arm. He doesn't panic. He's really a good player. He's made a good impression on me, as well as the other members of the staff. I like him a lot. He's a ballplayer. He doesn't say much, goes about his business. He's a treat to manage. I really like him a lot. Whatever happens with that, I like him a lot."

I get it. He likes him!
