Detroit Tigers 2012 spring training schedule announced

With winter fast approaching, the Tigers have announced their 2012 spring training schedule at last.

It will be the 76th season the Tigers spend in Lakeland, and the 47th consecutive season at Joker Marchant Stadium.

The season opens March 2 with the traditional Florida Southern game. Detroit will host the World Series champion Cardinals on March 17 and the Yankees on March 24. The Phillies will visit March 9 and 25.

The Tigers announce the prices will be in three different levels, depending on the date/opponent: Season tickets and packages of 5 or more games are on sale now at Tigers.com and elsewhere, with individual game sales beginning on Jan. 7.

Navy level games will be played March 4, March 9, March 17, March 21, March 24 and March 25 and range from $14-28.

Orange level games will be played March 7, March 10, March 14, March 20, March 26 and March
29 with a price range from $12-25.

White level games will be played March 2, March 5, March 12, March 15, April 1 and April 2 with a price range
from $9-22.
