Every weekday from February 7-25, I'll be publishing a prospect profile from my top 30 Detroit Tigers prospect list. The profiles that appear here on Bless You Boys were the ones that were cut for space from this year's Maple Street Press Tigers Annual. You'll be able to read half the list for free, but I'd really encourage you to order the annual for the other half (not to mention all the other great content).
Bryan Holaday, C, Grade C
Bats R, Throws R, Height 6'0", Weight 205 lbs, Date of Birth November 19, 1987
A senior out of Texas Christian University, Holaday doesn't have a good bat. His hit tool is around average, but he has below average power and is a below average runner. His defense, however, is top notch. His arm plays well for the position, he has good footwork and mobility behind the plate and he knows how to manage a pitching staff, which one would expect out of a college senior, especially one playing in the College World Series. Holaday could easily be a backup catcher on most teams, and he's a pretty sure bet to reach that ceiling.
